1. What are your hours?

For homeowner and contractors using our Small Load Facility generally M-F 7:00 am - 4:30 pm and Saturday 7:00 am - 11:30 am. For specific days or holidays see under the Calendar button on our Home Page either the Holiday Calendar or the Homeowner & Contractor Calendar.

2. How much does it cost to dispose of household waste?

Home Owner/ Passenger Vehicle $3 per 30 gallon bag. Pickup truck or small trailer containing up to 500 pounds - $22.50. Municipal Solid Waste over 500 pounds $90.00 per ton. Each bulky item (stuffed chair, sofa) will have an $10.00 per item additional charge. Mattresses and box springs are $25.00 per item to recycle or dispose of.

3. What forms of payment do you accept?

4. Do you accept Organic Materials?

We have a separate Organics Processing area. We accept leaves, grass, branches, wooden pallets, railroad ties, stumps and telephone poles. Pressure treated wood is disposed of with the other waste. Organics Fee Schedule

5. How can I get some screened leaf compost?

We usually give away free small loads of leaf compost one Saturday in March each year. Keep an eye out for this on our calendar. For the rest of the year, we sell it to the public for $10.00 per cubic yard.  We are loading compost Fridays from 7:00 AM until 3:00 PM.

7. How do I dispose of waste at Lanchester's Small Load Facility?

Our main entrance is at 7224 28th Division Highway, Narvon, PA 17555 (Route 322 in Salisbury Township, Lancaster County). Once you make the turn proceed straight ahead and up on to the scale to talk to the Weighmaster. 8. What happens to wood and brush that is dropped off at the compost area?

We chip up the brush and compost it.

9. How do I dispose of pressure treated wood?

Pressure treated wood can be disposed of with your regular waste. If you have more to dispose of than you want to put with your weekly collection you can bring it to our Small Load Facility for disposal. The cost is $20.00 for up to 500 pounds and if you have more than 500 pounds the cost is $80.00 per ton prorated in 20 pound increments.
